Steamboat was beautiful, a lot of fun and very relaxing. We returned to inches of ice on our driveway, my bank account going crazy, dogs with skin problems and so tired that we were in bed by 7:30 last night. At least tomorrow is Friday. We will need the weekend to sort through our luggage, get the laundry done and bathe the itchy dogs.
The only real issue we had on vacation was Biscuit and his dislocated shoulder. On the day that I skipped skiing, he met with a bit of an accident doing what I’m told were the slowest stunts ever. He managed to re-seat the shoulder himself and made it down the mountain on his own. It is still sore and probably will be for a while, but there has been no talk of going to the doctor. There hasn’t been any rest, either. Instead, there has been a lot of skiing, luggage carrying and ice shoveling. His pain tolerance and ability to ignore the unpleasant are unparalleled.
