The brown recluse spiders in our house are not reclusive. They sex it up in the laundry room sink, saunter across the living room floor during prime time and, earlier this evening, planned a stealth attack involving fish food. I lifted the food container, removed the lid and delicately tapped its side to dispense the food. As I did so, the brown recluse that had been lying in wait on the cylinder began to crawl up my arm. There was cursing, flailing and a flurry of fish food. I knocked the dirty devil spider off and killed it before it could chomp on me, but it was still a very upsetting situation. I have been bitten by the nasty creatures and the wound and other symptoms (systemic rash, fever, fatigue) suck balls. It is going to be a bad year for the creep crawlies around here and it looks like a call to the exterminator is already overdue.
