Getting A Head-start

Yesterday was not my best day, so I woke up early today, with the hope that I could get everything started and scheduled without feeling rushed or under pressure.  So far, so good.

I have had an extremely difficult time getting things done lately.  This isn’t a new phenomenon, but it does seem to be worse right now than usual.  We have a rare Friday to ourselves this evening, so I’m hoping that I can make a short list of things that I have to get done and actually finish them.  Deciding what to put on the list will be pretty easy, sticking to just those items will be harder.

Last week, I decided that the carpet in the showroom at work needed to be vacuumed.  I did half of the floor when I decided that the shelves should also be dusted.  As I dusted, I noticed that the items on the shelves could really be better organized and more attractively displayed.  I never did finish vacuuming, but the shelves do look nice.

Update:  It has been 10 minutes since I resolved to get some important things done this evening.  I have already thought about going to the fabric store to pick up a pattern and fabric for a summer dress that I could make in my “free” time tonight.  I have a feeling that I will have to give myself mental slaps on the hand all day long.
