I Am a Copy Cat

I love lists and I’ve been considering making one similar to Zoot’s 101 in 1001.  The following are the 101 things I would like to accomplish in the next 1001 days.

1. Sew more new garments than I buy.
2. Turn the second spare bedroom into an office/craft room.
3. Wear size 8 jeans comfortably.
4. Become proficient enough at the banjo to play along at guitar nights.
5. Auction all of my antiques and vintage clothing.
6. Paint the stairwell.
7. Bake a delicious and attractive layer cake.
8. Visit two new states.
9. Learn to snowboard.
10. Crochet a tuque for Tom.

11. Finish my master’s degree.
12. Write my grandmothers monthly letters.
13. See Eddie Izzard live.
14. Earn my 2nd degree black belt in tae kwon do.
15. Buy a good wig and wear it.
16. Take at least 5 classes at the adult learning center.
17. Make my own wine.
18. Replace the rest of the windows in the house.
19. Find and eat five new fruits.
20. Visit one new country.
21. Ride in the 2008 MS150.
22. Try every vegetable dish I am served.
23. Read 143 books and post something short about each of them.
24. Learn American Sign Language.
25. Sort and scan all of my pre-digital photographs.
26. Replace the carpet in the house.
27. Sell or donate all of my clothing that doesn’t fit.
28. Visit each parent 3 times.
29. Send birthday cards to friends and family.
30. Build and use a compost tumbler.
31. Volunteer for a literacy program.
32. Become a full-time non-smoker, no exceptions, ever.
33. Give homemade gifts when invited to a shower, bridal or baby.
34. Visit a winery outside of Missouri.
35. Increase my iron levels enough to donate blood.
36. Limit fast-food to one meal a month.
37. Learn to ride a motorcycle.
38. Collect family recipes.
39. See each aunt, uncle and cousin at least once.
40. Make my own vegetable stock.
41. Compete with a weapon at a tae kwon do tournament.
42. Make a realistic budget each month.
43. Throw out every expired item in the bathroom and kitchen.
44. Buy and use a sketch book.
45. Learn to groom the dogs.
46. Host our 10th anniversary part in June.
47. Learn how to brew a proper cup of tea at home.
48. Make 3 new friends.
49. Buy a flute.
50. Take Tom to House on the Rock.
51. Start a modest wine “cellar”.
52. Organize and box my shoes.
53. Make a dog bed built for two.
54. Replace our pots and pans.
55. Earn a sparring medal at a tae kwon do tournament.
56. Take a photography class.
57. Learn to make cheese.
58. Grow my hair to my shoulders.
59. Visit my grandfathers’ graves.
60. Build a corner desk for the living room.
61. Eat at 5 new restaurants.
62. Can my own tomato sauce.
63. Send gifts to friends for no reason.
64. Visit the museums on the MU campus (art and archeology, anthropology and entomology).
65. Buy 5 pieces of local art.
66. Hike at The Pinnacles..
67. Follow Mizzou hockey.
68. Research Columbia’s recycling program.
69. Play on a sand volleyball team.
70. Paint the ceilings in the house.
71. Buy meat locally.
72. Make a quilt.
73. Put at least 5% of my earnings in investments.
74. Take photos or a video for insurance purposes.
75. Attend an author’s reading.
76. Listen to one new artist’s album each month.
77. Learn to play euchre.
78. Make pudding from scratch.
79. Line-dry my laundry when weather permits.
80. Clean out the 5 closets.
81. Buy a set of silverware, service for 8 or 10, that I don’t hate.
82. See Barenaked Ladies perform live.
83. Drink more Casino Beer with Dave.
84. Try a new wine each month.
85. Make a 2 year plan to build a new house.
86. Use my already-paid-for-through-September 2008 gym membership at least once each week.
87. Take a 2-day float trip.
88. Make spicy tuna rolls.
89. Start a family tree.
90. Learn to parallel park my truck.
91. Have 5 dinner parties
92. Make a monetary donation to a charity each month.
93. Print and frame family photos.
94. Introduce a friend to a new food.
95. Make 43 of my 143 books non-fiction.
96. Hire a professional chimney sweep.
97. Find a charity event that involves an unnecessary feet of strength for 2009.
98. Remove three problem moles.
99. Visit with my high school friends 3 times.
100. Make ravioli from scratch.
101. Go blonde for a few weeks.
