One Down, One Hundred to Go

I didn’t set out to make my shoes top priority, but I was at Target and they had 31 shoe boxes available, which was right in the neighborhood of what I needed.  I brought them home and Tom suggested that I only use 30 and then, as an additional challenge, try to keep it to 30.  In other words, if new shoes come in, an old pair has to go out.  I managed to fudge a bit by packing flip-flops together, but I did toss two pair of shoes that were old, dirty and outdated.  I also moved my winter boots to the coat closet downstairs, since they are strictly for function, not fashion.  So, I have five stacks of six boxes that fit very well under my clothes in the closet and have made a pledge to stop the boxes from multiplying.  If nothing else, I should be able to extend the life of the pairs that I have now that they aren’t crammed on top of one another.
