The Thrill of the Hunt

I have always loved rummage sales and thrift stores.  I often decorate, dress and find monetary gain second-hand.  I think that I may love ebay enough to marry it.

This morning, my friend, Susan, and I went to the local sales.  I may have purchased my very favorite find today.  It is a set of bronze silverware from Thailand.  I bought it from a guy who purchased it for his mother while he was a soldier in Viet Nam.  It is in excellent condition and the pieces are nestled in their original case.  Speaking of pieces, it is important to note that there are one hundred and forty-four of them.  It is service for 12 with 11 different utensils and 12 serving pieces.  I haven’t decided yet if I will keep it or sell it.  I’m just starting to look into what a set like this would fetch on the ol’ internet.  In either case, the most exciting moment is behind me.  Finding what I know is a unique and, perhaps, valuable item for a small price, to quote Truvy Jones, really melts my butter.
